And you shall count seven Sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of seven Sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all the land. And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family (Leviticus 25:8-10).

The Condition of the Church

To talk about the present day condition of the church, I suppose I ought to draw the distinction between the body of Christ, and the church congregations.

The body of Christ is doing just fine. :) It is, however, getting harder and harder to find them in church congregations.

The true believer is keen to little 'off tracks' around them and sometimes it gets alarming. Remember, you can read descriptions of today's churches in Revelations. Things really haven't changed that much.

There is, however, a new stage before us. The one world church. Many of us see it happening right before our eyes.

Read what Paul said about these things. It truly is, up to us to speak up. If they won't listen, we are to leave. It's that cut and dried.

You see, Christians get things confused. They confuse spreading the gospel and letting their light shine, with begging and striving with un-believers. Check out those things Jesus told us to do. Striving isn't in the orders, at all.

It has always been a hard struggle. Remember what Jesus said about putting your own family before Him? That was a physical demonstration of the spiritual struggle, we experience today. How can we just turn a blind eye? Well, we can't but we also cannot win over people with arguments.

Back to the original discussion. I find it so easy to get side tracked.

In the last few years, my daughter, grandson and I have moved out of the state and then back home again. The condition of the church, has become a huge discussion point in our family. We've witnessed it, as strangers in a new town. Then moving back home again, brought yet another new light on the subject, as we discovered this strange phenomena is everywhere.

The 'watered down' and the 'rock concert on Sunday morning'. Where did all that come from? My latest and loudest experience, in a visit to a new church, even had a fog machine on 'the stage?'

Since when did the podium become a rock band stage? The effort to reach out to the youth, has brought the church down to the level of that youth, instead of standing like a rock. When did the church stop letting it's light shine, and replaced it with strob lights and fog machines? Where did the foundation go?

Forgiveness is Sometimes the hardest thing to Do.

I learned the value of forgiveness, many years ago. That doesn't mean I'm accomplished in it.

New trials pop up every day, tempting one to harbor contempt and some of them are really hard to overcome. Nobody on this earth, is perfect. Not by a long shot.

We run up against people who seem to think themselves perfect, looking down their noses at anyone they view as 'under' them. I'd have to say that when this attitude is directed at you, it becomes the hardest temptation to overcome.

Don't do as I do, do as I say? :) I guarantee, if there's anyone who understands, it's me.

Remember who you are and remember who is important. Your Lord's opinion of you counts a whole lot more than that of your neighbor. Hang in there and remember your reward has nothing to do with this world.

The Last Generation

When, in all of history, did society come to the conclusion that animals were also devine? Of course, I'm not talking about India, I'm talking about the known 'Christian' world. And of course, I'm talking about seeing animals in general, right down to the coyote, as being on a level with humans.

I came close to an argument about that very thing, recently. Someone on facebook worshipped a link calling for the boycot of Idaho potatoes. Why? Evidently because they are killing coyotes.

I made some statement about protecting a human before I'd protect an animal and the fire storm began. How strange, we've become.

Today, people will spend thousands on surgery for a dog, while they give very little to the poor. Go figure.

Half our generation will stand up and rail against the Nativity set, even on the front lawn of a church but they don't blink an eye at the wholesale slaughter of unborn children.

It's not just sin in the streets, it's also sin against mankind, today. We've gone from logic to insanity.

I'm in my 60's and remember my grand-parents well. They were farmers. I'll never forget the day my grandmother discovered we had a dog 'in the house'. It was upside down logic, to her. Dogs had a purpose in life and it wasn't lying on the livingroom floor or chewing up ones house shoes.

We, as Christians, have bought into a lot of this modern day attitude, without realizing the shift. Who among us would snap the neck of a chicken and yet we eat it, all the time. Your grand parents did.

We have so lost the realities of life, it's no wonder we have 'tree huggers', perfectly willing to put hundreds out of work. And think about it: how many millions of dollars have been spent in the name of some beetle, and then even more to support those who can't find work? Kind of silly, don't you think? Upside down thinking.

To add to that, we have lazy Christians to stand up to these crazy folks. The few who will voice an opinion, get shot in the streets for daring to carry a sign, calling the baby killers, 'baby killers'. Are we really so spineless?

We've gone completely from the 'Scarlet Letter', to coddling pregnant teenagers. Our society has gone from straight laced social conduct, all the way to no fences at all.

How many of us, living in our 60's today, remember the hippy age? Our generation was completely divided. More than half our generation went the way of no regulations, free love, free clinics and food stamps, living in communes and 'doing their own thing'. Boy, do I remember the 'do your own thing' thing. As long as you were doing their thing, you were doing your own thing but if you really did your own thing, you had to be converted. Seems to me that's what I see in the Democratic party, these days. Seems to me, the same division. And of course, we must do their thing. Right now, 'their thing' is destroying the U.S.

The last generation? It has to be. Where could we possibly go from here? The world is upside down, compared to 50 years ago.

Life is so much easier and healthier, than it ever has been in history. That's true and along with it came perversion and laziness. Human kind, I suppose, can't be healthy. One thing or another, will drop down the drain. It's like we have a choice between 'body and soul' and 'happiness and wealth'.

We weren't just subjected to the sins of this world, we let it happen. The church didn't stand up, in one accord, when the time was right. We watched the crazy costumes, in the 'gay pride' parade, jam up our streets and push their attitude in our faces.

We in the U.S., live in a free society. Should I say, 'used to'? So we allow these things for that cause. Yet, the favor was never returned. Those among us whom we allowed freedom, desire to take our away.

I'm beginning to ramble but I think you see my point. People ask, "How do you know this is the last days"? and I say, "look around you". The people asking are so blind, they don't see what has changed. Only a Christian with a foundation of rock, can see it.

I think you'd be shocked to discover, this perverted society is sitting in the pew, next to you. Hang onto your foundation.

The 'hippy generation' was the beginning of the end. What followed, immediately, were the 'bra burners' and then pushing the homosexual to the front of the line. That portion of our generation has begat a whole generation of perversion and theirs have now had children. 'Those' children, kill other children and even their parents. Yup! The beginning of the end. Anyone here, remember the days of hanging babies in trees, to die? I sure do.

So now, ask me why I'm convinced this is the last generation. All these symptoms, added to what Jesus said, and I'm convinced.

I'm Not Worthy of the Lord

Such arguments against the validity of Jesus and what He did for us. Set aside all those arguments for a minute and just concentrate on Jesus- Who is was- Who He is. Even if you have to pretend.

Considering that you could possibly believe, even for a second, that Jesus is real - how do you feel about it? I mean, would you think yourself not worthy and so why try? Let me tell you a little secret. Well, it's not really a secret but you'd have to read the Bible to know about it and then you'd have to believe all you've read.

Jesus didn't come to save perfect people. He came to save us from ourselves. So which of us is the least worthy? Is it the prostitute? Is it the murderer? It's none. There is no such thing as one worse than the other. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. That's just a fact.

Regardless of who you are or what you've done, you are the one He came for. He loved you so much, He was willing to suffer a human death and beatings, if it meant your freedom. You have time to study, to understand the reasons why but right now, let's just look at what He did, without going into all those details about why or why it had to be. He did it. He did it for you and for me and for all mankind.

A lie begets a lie, begets a lie, begets a lie....... Sometimes we become so buried in falsehood, we forget how to find our way back to truth. There is only One, Who can help you to find your way out.

Sometimes, it's not your lies that buried you but the lies of those who raised you. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm simply looking straight at a subject, instead of hedging. How ever you've come to be in a hole so deep you can't find your way out, you must find your way out.

Most of us have a hard time with cold facts and plain truth, but without it we perish. You cannot call yourself Christian, and hate truth. Christians love truth and are willing to come out of hiding, to have it.

Jesus has already sent forth labourers into His harvest and the labourers are every person that has been born again by the blood of Jesus. We are running out of time to tell the good news of a risen Saviour. We must be about the Master’s business and win people to Jesus because God’s clock is ticking off the seconds. Even if our electricity goes out or the battery goes dead, His clock is still ticking. Also, the time to tell our loved ones how much we love them grows shorter.
